1) Give the name and webpage of a Mission's conference that you feel would be valuable to check out with your church(or youth group). 2) Give a short history of your involvement.
My hope: this will be a great resource as we help plan the 'anchor events' of a church/youth group's calendar year. |

Posted - 02/25/2006 : 07:08:19 AM 1 - THE Urbana Missions Conference (moved this winter to St. Louis). www.urbana.org 2 - I went to the last two conferences. Apart from my trips to India. They have helped the most in my commitment and in advice towards missions. Budget $500 for the week (registration is $400 for early birds).
1 - Nat. Missionary Convention (and Windows) http://nmc-windows.org/nmc/home_ finally they have a good website! 2 - I made my first public commitment towards missions in 1996 (Lexington). I have tried to make this event every year. Around 7-8 thousand now attend the combined adult and teen conventions. Budget $250 for the weekend (registration is a $1).
1 - World Mandate. Antioch Church in Waco, TX. http://www.antiochcc.net/worldmandate/ 2 - I have not attended this ever. I was part of a church plantin South Dakota and staff/Volunteers had moved to help the plant from this church. Budget $250 for the weekend (registration is $65).
High costs for these is because I am including a Super 8 average hotel rate and $2.50 a gallon in gasoline... obviously a 15 passenger church van will cut costs dramatically! |
