ACU Summit this week
posted 9/20/2012 11:01:01 AMAbilene (TX) Christian University's 106th Summit kicked off this past Sunday with the theme “Intimacy: Return to God.” Featured speakers included author Elaine Heath, who spoke about her book The Gospel According to Twilight: Women, Sex and God; and Walter Brueggemann, professor of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary.
In addition to these sessions and a number of breakout classes, the event included coffee houses where speakers, students and guests participated in creative experiences that explored the Christian faith, among them a student filmmakers roundtable; conversations with Walter Brueggemann; an open mic poetry slam; and a hip hop concert. The Summit ends today.
